About Us
The founders of The Paper Airplane Company, LLC were John Wickham and John White. Each brought his own special talent to the formation and operation of the company. Following is a brief resume' on each of the founders:
John WIckham graduated from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, MI with a degree in illustration. John has been a creative director in advertising and graphic design for 23 years, and has won several local, regional and national awards for excellence. Prior to attending college John was self-employed as a carpenter and remodeler. Designing model airplanes comes naturally from both of these life experiences and John's love for aviation.
John Wickham is no longer associated with the company.
The company was acquired by John Michael Enterprises, LLC on January 1, 2007 from the original partners and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of John Michael Enterprises, LLC
John White has a BA from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He was the Chief Pilot for an insurance company for 7 years. After that he formed an aviation insurance agency which grew into a major competitor in the Mid-West. He is an ATP pilot with DC-3 and Cessna Citation Type Ratings, and over 7,000 hours of flying time. John's wife Betty owns a 1939 Piper J-3 Cub (which they both love to fly), and they also own a Piper Navajo Chieftan.
